Anne Hathaway: 8 more reasons to love her!

Hosting the Oscars last night I was in full-on girl crush mode. Anne looking amazing in all of her dresses – and don’t forget the one tux too! There was only one real “miss,” but the rest were so great!

Arriving in Valentino (with Valentino!)

Givenchy Haute Couture

Oscar de la Renta

Lanvin tux

Vivienne Westwood
(aka the only one I wasn’t truly crazy about, plus that hair looks like one of the misfiring dos from the Princess Diaries movies..)

Atelier Versace

Armani Prive

OOTD

It’s gloom and doom outside, so I decided to forego wearing contacts (you’re welcome, Dr. Marsh). Here’s hoping tomorrow, the first day of March, brings some nicer weather. Pretty please?

Oscar Red Carpet

My favs:

Amy Adams
This was my favorite red carpet look of the night. The rest are runners-up, but Amy Adams looked amazing. She had a kid last year, right?

Cate Blanchett
This dress alone is why it was so hard to pick my favorite. Everything about Cate is spot on, especially that hair. So good!

Hailee Steinfeld
Could there have been someone dressed more age appropriate? She looks like a perfect cupcake of a 13-year-old.

Mila Kunis
The color is amazing! What I love most is that she didn’t go big or super structured, but she still impressed us in this understated lavender number.

Mandy Moore
I can’t remember the last time Mandy was on this red carpet, but believe me, she looked so great I won’t forget this one!

Andrew Garfield
He’s just so nice to look at.

Fashion Week

After skimming WWD online articles, I think Alerta Ferretti has my favorite collection for fall 2011. She took the retro colors from this spring, gave them life for fall and placed them on mod-60s silhouettes. Trapeze dresses galore! I’m not crazy about velvet leggings (but I really hate velvet, so…), but everything else about what she did for fall is perfection. Retro jewel tones? Yes, please! Baroque-but-not-really-baroque inspired large prints? Uh, huh! Asymmetrical sleeves? You bet! Layering dress/tunics over pants? All the time! Check it out.

OOTD

This is quite possibly one of my most important outfits yet. Today is my interview with the HR department at Ann Taylor. The story behind this particular ensemble:

Yesterday while asking one of my bosses if I could use her as a recommendation she asked me, what I was wearing to the interview. I responded honestly, “I have no clue yet.” She suggested I wear something that’s currently in their stores. I agreed, but my problem was that I had class last night and wouldn’t have a chance to stop by one of their stores before they closed to get something. She told me “just go now.” I couldn’t really argue with her. So off I was sent to an Ann Taylor, where I picked out this dress. I professionalized it with a 3/4 sleeve black cardigan (from LOFT, natch), black tights and black pumps.

Last night I painted my nails in my favorite shade of purple-y brown. I think I’m ready!

Philip Treacy + Kate Middleton

News broke this weekend that Kate Middleton has asked Philip Treacy to design hats for her wedding party. Brilliant! I’ve done a post about the genius milliner, Philip Treacy and his stunning creations. After a quick glance at the gallery on his website I’ve found a few designs that would be nice for such an occasion as the royal wedding. Of course the pair will come up with something completely original. Wearing couture hats is so British, I can’t wait to see the ultimate product!
